Homemade Curry Roux
Ingredients
- Makes enough for 4 cups of liquid.
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional spicy)
Instructions
- Melt butter in pan.
- Add flour.
- Continuously stir as it will easily burn for 12–15 minutes on low heat. The roux will turn light brown.
- Add garam masala, curry powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Mix for 30 seconds then remove from heat.
